Be it an intense flu or just a common cold, the Ayurvedic idea for the healing of this infectious viral illness is simple.
Mix the following 4 ingredients together:
- Honey
- Lemon
- Black Pepper
- Ginger
You can mix these components into the honey, and administer them orally, or you can make the above things into a tea and drink it as hot as it feels comfortable for you. (Hot in this case refers to temprature, and not using as much ginger and black pepper as possible, without milling a hole into our abdominal wall.)
These 4 ingredients together are the ones that do the trick, so according to age, the severity of the problem and personal preferences you can use different amounts of the components. For eg: probably kids will not handle too much of the spices, so you can make them a very light ginger tea with a tiny amount of black pepper, and tons of honey and lemon, and it will still have the desired effect.
Take the above mixture 2-3 times daily and the whole thing will be gone in a jiffy!

Ps: Depending where you are in the world, sometimes it is easier to get dryed and powdered ginger. That works wonders as well, especially if there is a lot of mucus to cut through.
